A DENIED SON

I'm just a boy.
I'd love to feel the joy;
For some man to say, 'That's my boy.'

Daddy you must know, I'm your child;
But when you see me, you don't even smile.
It looks like you'd tell someone, 'Hey, that's my child.'
Perhaps you're so worried that child support will be filed.

I know you're my dad, I thought you'd be glad, but instead you're sad.
You forgot that a child is a gift from God;
With you around, it wouldn't have been so hard.

I thank God for the mama that I had; I came to realize I didn't even need a dad;
I found a Father which is in Heaven; and that's the best thing I ever had.

OH GOD! LOVE IS YOU

Love is not a diamond ring, although it's a beautiful thing.
Neither is it an expensive vacation, on an exotic location.
Often it's been thought that love comes in a box, that someone special has bought.
One of the greatest expressions, with a man and woman looking in each others eyes is;
I love you. A lot of times its just a lustful confession.
Love can't be picked up and laid back down.
It goes deeper than a smile, and farther than a million miles.
Love is a four letter word, wrapped up in a three letter Spirit.
Oh God! Love is you.

Love is pure and sure. Love is honest, sometimes causing heartaches and pains.
Love is standing up for God, through the sunshine and the rain.
Love comes as it is, take it or leave it, love is plain.
It has a bond that'll hold tighter than super glue.
It will conquer all sin, and can reach all men.
Love will make you forgive, no matter how deep the scar is within.
Oh God! Love is you.

Love is all those times I prayed a prayer, and it seemed like no one was there.
When nobody else even cared, yet and still God, you answered my prayer.
How great is the sunshine that you sent my way on those cloudy days.
When I had no hope for tomorrow, Love had already made a way.
Man can only love, but God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.
And the Son of Love, stayed on the cross, because man was not able to pay the cost.
His Son gave His life, to save our life.
And that was the last blood sacrifice.
Thank God for Jesus Christ.
In examining the Father and the Son, I see that they are one.
I see a whole lot of love.
Oh God! Love is you.

FROM A FIFTY CENT SHOT TO A MILLION DOLLAR HIGH

It's a fact that mint gin is green.
Regardless of the color it can cause a person to behave very mean.
Whether you get a half for $3.00 or a whole for $5.00,
Salvation is free, but you must also die if you want to stay alive.
There's a high that can do more than a fifty cent shot, it's a million dollar high.

Booze will cause you to snooze, and your mind you might lose.
It'll knock you out and cause you to speak a language that no one knows about.
Drunk falling in the alley, not knowing if your name is Sally or Sue.
Knowing everything about a God that they won't even serve.
There's a high that you can't get from the ABC store, it's a million dollar high.

If you're snorting coke or injecting a needle in your veins.
Regardless, this kind of high won't remain.
Neither taking uppers and downers, they will keep you going down town.
Drugs is not a joke.
They'll keep you broke trying to afford a habit that can cause you to croak.
There's a high that the crack house can't supply, it's a million dollar high.

Why settle for a cheap thrill when you can serve a God that's real?
If you find pleasure in getting drunk, God will grant it.
But in Him you gotta be planted.
In the Spirit you can go out and even stagger about.
If you want mixed language seek God for the gift of talking in tongues.
This is for the old as well as the young.
There's a high beyond the sky, fifty cent wouldn't even begin to buy.
Never say that God has stopped anybody from getting drunk.
If you sup with Him, He'll sup with you.
But you gotta change drinking partners, that's what you must do.
From a fifty cent shot to a million dollar high.
