The Flying Frog

When the morning came, flowers opened. The flowers were wet with dew. The dewdrops were clear and bright. The Sun rays got in the dewdrops that fell on the flower, shone out like a rainbow. The Green Frog jumped around the beautiful flowerbed. The pigeon sat on a branch and she watched the Green Frog pouncing on the flowerbeds. The green frog did not know when she had come.

'Beautiful. isn't it?' Said pigeon.

'Oh, pigeon, when did you come? What are you doing there? Come and play with me on these beautiful flowerbeds.' Said Green Frog.

'Yes, it is beautiful. There are lots of beautiful things in the world.' Said pigeon.

'Well, I am ready to go to the Overhill. Can we start now?' Asked Green Frog.

'Yes, but when you go to the hilltop, it is very far and has a rough road and also it is very hard for you to jump. But if you try your best without resting, you will make it to the hill top.' Said pigeon.

'All right, I will try my best. I know it is hard but I'll try,' Said Green Frog.

The Green Frog got ready and jumped to the hilltop and the pigeon flew above the Green Frog. After a long time, he rested in the shade between the two rocks.

'Are you tired, frog? If you jump a little bit more, you will come to a little brook.' Said the pigeon.

'But... I am very tired and thirsty. So give me a break.' Said Green Frog.

'Come on and wake up, frog. If you jump a little bit more, we will come to a little brook and we could rest there.' Said pigeon. So, Green Frog got up and jumped as much as he could.

'Look! There is a little brook over there. Can you see it frog?' Asked pigeon.

'Yes, I could see it.' Answered Green Frog.

And Green Frog jumped all his might to reach there. Just then, a butterfly came flying from a brook and asked pigeon where the Green Frog came from. And the pigeon said it came from an old well.

'Where is he going?' Asked butterfly.

'We are going to the Overhill but we will rest at the brook first.'Answered pigeon. And the butterfly told them they will reach the brook soon. While the pigeon and butterfly were talking, the frog hopped to the brook and swam there.

For a long time the Green Frog swam and swam. Then he got out of the brook and set up for the journey. Just then a dragonfly flew to them while pigeon and butterfly were waiting for Green Frog.
