About the Book
In 1954 twins were born to Emily and George Gallagher. Through the early years of their life, Terry and Gerry were subjected to the most violent types of abuse from their father. The mother also suffers from the same abuse and retreats into a world of her own by writing in her diary. In the pages of the diary is the story of the family torn apart and violated by an abusive husband and father and others from outside the family.
Unusual deaths seem to follow the Gallagher twins, starting in their teens and on into adulthood.
When Gerry returns to close the family home after the death of her mother, from an illness, old wounds are opened when she finds the diary from the years past.
Living in San Francisco and working at a local library, Gerry Gallagher needs the help of her twin brother to help her with what she calls her 'problems.' When he returns to help her, the final debts are paid and a feeling of finality comes to Gerry for the first time in years.
