About the Book
The Storking
In carrying out his assignment, the Stork encounters numerous allies and adversaries, including the tough but likeable British undercover agent, Nigel; the charming Swiss gendarme Gaston; and the lovely but mysterious adversary Sonya. Each encounter brings new twists and turns as the Stork doggedly pursues his quest to prevent the plans from being stolen. The reader is kept on tenterhooks as to who will ultimately win the affection of the lovely Sonya: the Stork or his old friend and sometimes nemesis, Nigel.
Had someone written a modern day parody of C.S. Forrester’s action hero Captain Horatio Hornblower or his land-based counterpart Lieutenant Sharp, this would have been the book.
About the Author
Ilsa Undla has been writing short fiction, poetry, essays, and film criticism since her undergraduate days, when she won her university’s "best student short story award." Born, raised, and educated in Wisconsin, she is an experienced global traveler and is intimately familiar with Switzerland, the venue for this, her first published novel. She has been a member of the faculties at three universities, having majored in English as an undergraduate and having pursued graduate studies in history. She also holds a J.D. degree and has practiced law. Her avocational interests, in addition to traveling, include competitive highpower rifle and pistol shooting, gardening, amateur radio, military history, and carpentry. She denies, however, that she is the real-life model for her fictional heroine, Sonya.
