About the Book

Come join us my friend,
In the Land of the Boo.
There you’ll see Purple-Green sand,
And little Betty Lou, too.

In a series of children stories in Tales of the Boo, Uncle Jake takes a whimsical look at the magical, mystical world of the Boo – fanciful creatures who live along Lake Walleywakoo.

Join them in their adventures as they explore such uplifting and relevant subjects as how helping the smallest Boo ends up helping everyone and how panic and wild imaginations can lead to mass hysteria.

A true Aesop-style lesson for today’s youth, The Tales of the Boo, also chronicles how, by not always following the crowd, one individual can change the world for the better.

Rhyming in classic style, Uncle Jake makes this book a truly entertaining and educating read for all ages – and one that can be shared by all children and parents.

About the Author

This is the book that started it all.

Uncle Jake is actually Tim Jacobs, founder of 1stBooks Library (now AuthorHouse) – the world’s largest provider of self-publishing services. Tim is a well-known businessman who has traveled the world. His experiences have taken him from the Vice President position of a major insurance company in Indiana to being the owner of his own business in the Ukraine of Europe. He has taught at the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University, and is an amazing entrepreneur.

During his career he wrote children’s books as a hobby. After many attempts to become a published author and being turned down, he began to look for alternatives. During his research he found hundreds of potential authors just like himself - wonderful writers, who had written good material - but just couldn’t get the recognition they deserved.

So, Tim decided to start his own publishing company and in doing so he made his services available to others just like himself. The journey has become a tremendous story of success.

Tim, Carmen and their family still live in the rolling country hills of southern Indiana.  Nothing pleases him more than feeling the cool breeze of a summer evening while sitting on the back deck of his home watching the sunset.
