To force us to work on developing new territory! No way! I will not cooperate to enslave humanity no matter what you say." And Wolf became distraught, as he again paced around the room. "I thought you might be strong enough to withstand the shock of information I have imparted to you. It is now evident to me that your confusion between reality and illusion prevents you from accepting the truth of my words, and makes you doubt our good intentions. "I have no alternative but to take you with me to Marrias to observe our world for yourself. We have no time to waste. Return to bed. Lay back on the pillow. Close your eyes now, close your eyes. There is nothing to fear. All will be well." Eamm’s words had a hypnotic effect on Wolf. As he dozed, he felt himself floating above the bed. At the same time, he could see his body lying still on the bed. Eamm took the hand of his floating body and, in Wolf’s semi-consciousness, it seemed to him that they both lifted upward, piercing the roof like it was a magical liquid that did not stay on the body. Wolf thought they were flying through the sky at tremendous speed. Soon they reached a secluded area that Wolf could not identify. Under thick brush, Eamm uncovered a compact spacecraft built like a bullet, unlike anything Wolf had ever seen. Eamm easily opened the massive door and helped Wolf’s hologram to enter. ****** It was midnight in Colorado. Henry couldn’t sleep. The work on the cave shelter was almost complete. For the first time since Lyssa left, he permitted himself to think about the future. What would it mean to him personally, if the lethal Cloud covers the Earth? He would not be able to see the stars or the moon shining in the vast Colorado sky. There would be no early morning sun rising slowly over the mountain to greet him at dawn. He might never again breathe in the fresh, invigorating air, while walking on a mountain path; or see the azure sky, seemingly so close, that if he raised his arms he could form a human channel between sky and earth. He would never again ride his favorite horse through the daisy fields in the valley; nor could he swim in the pristine lake on his property; or dive from a mountain ledge into the natural pool formed by a cascading waterfall. It might be years before he could again lie naked in the grass, and feel the hot rays from the sun on his back. Worst of all, he wouldn’t have Lyssa to share all this with him. The thought of losing the life he loved on the ranch and his longing for Lyssa came over him in a rush of sorrow.

About the Book
Disbelief greets the messengers from Marrias, a planet with an advanced civilization that is light years from Earth, when they try to warn the leaders of our planet that an ominous poisonous cloud is heading towards Earth. My fast-paced, suspense novel, tells the story of the Marriast efforts to convince the leaders of the diverse nations on Earth of the impending catastrophe, and to persuade them to take immediate action to protect humanity.
Even our most advanced telescopes do not see the Cloud until it penetrates our solar system. The major characters in the novel must be persuaded to assist the aliens in their effort to contact the leaders of the nations and participate in a possible last minute rescue if the Cloud penetrates Earth''s ozone layer. Will our leaders procrastinate, forcing the Marriasts to take control of the Earth in order to save humanity from extinction?
As the story evolves we see the contrast between our present world still filled with war and violence and the utopian planet of Marrias that has long ago overcome similar problems and is now 1,000 years ahead of us in technolgy, science, medicine and human values. The human characters in the novel become aware of their own shortcomings as they strive to demonstrate mankind''s potential for achieving a more peaceful and advanced civilization here on Earth.
About the Author
I am originally from Philadelphia, but I have spent most of my adult life in New York City and Westchester County. As a young woman, I lived in Paris and traveled through Europe with my husband who studied philosophy as a Fulbright Scholar at the Sorbonne and later became a psychoanalyst. After returning to New York, we had two children, who unfortunately witnessed the dissolution of our marriage when they were young. I was one of the first women to enter the Sarah Lawrence College Center for Continuing Education, receiving my bachelor''s degree six years later. After earning a Masters degree from Columbia University, I became a reporter for a daily newspaper and eventually retired from a position as regional director of public relations for a major financial institution.
Ten years ago, I moved to Connecticut where I met and married a fine man, who encouraged me to leave my day job when I said I wanted to write a novel. After "Cloud of Chaos Planet of Light" was published I began working on my next novel, "Chasing Cobwebs" " a mainstream/contemporary novel about an affluent suburban family in crisis.It is now publshed and can be accessed through my web site: www.bflord.com, I am presently researching the Jewish culture in pre-revolutionary Russia to prepare me for writing a novel about my mother''s youth in Odessa before she immigrated to America in 1912.
