EVIL AND DEPRAVED LIVING

God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man's heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man and beast, and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air: And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence and corruption.

Genesis 7-1

And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen RIGHTEOUS before me in this generation.

STENCH OF SODOM AND GOMORRAH

The Lord appeared unto Abraham in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, he saw three men, and when he saw them, he ran to meet them, and bowed himself toward the ground, And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: And they said, So do, as thou hast said. And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and they did eat. And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.

Genesis 18-23

And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the RIGHTEOUS with the wicked?

18-24

Peradventure there be fifty RIGHTEOUS within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty RIGHTEOUS that are therein?

18-25

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the RIGHTEOUS with the wicked: and that the RIGHTEOUS should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

18-26

And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty RIGHTEOUS within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

18-28

Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty RIGHTEOUS: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.

INFORMED HIS WIFE TO CALL HIM BROTHER

Abraham journeyed toward the south country with his family and settled in the land, at a place called Gerar.And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife. Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this. And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her. Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

Genesis 20-4

But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a RIGHTEOUS nation?
