About the Book

Whispers in the Wind is a song of serenity and solitude by poet Jeanine Allison, whose fascination with images and journeys of the soul are based on spiritual pursuits, life in the Mediterranean and worldwide travels. This collection of poetry is her response to her varied experiences, epiphanies and personal observations. She captures images of ‘the game’, candles, many kinds of roads, webs, mirrors, lovers–and most significantly cats–all of which abound in rhyming couplets and free verse in both short and longer poems.

Readers will enjoy Jeanine’s simple conversational style, which is strongly influenced by Robert Frost and Walt Whitman, for she is often at one with nature’s sights and sounds, echoes and alliteration.

About the Author

Jeanine Allison once wrote in one of her many journals, "Some people have to be transplanted in order to bloom." Like Ulysses, Jeanine has been seeking her Ithaca for more than 20 years, and in the sometimes turbulent sea of life, writing journals and poetry has been her anchor throughout her explorations of both her inner and outer reality. Through these journeys, she has completed undergraduate degrees in English and psychology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and history at the University of Toronto, also in Canada, as well as masters’ degrees in statistics and overseas administration at the University of Toronto and the College of New Jersey in the United States respectively. Post-graduate U.S. writing courses from Northeastern University and the University of California together with acting and singing have enhanced other responses to her creative muse.
