It was Gray T – Gray T killed my son. I'd stumbled across my son's murderer. He was only twenty-two, with the hard street experience of a fifty-year-old. He'd spilled his heart out to me with sincerity and probably hadn't even realized it and all I could feel for him was pity. I didn't hate him, want him punished, or dead like I had for three long years. All I wanted was to help him. I knew the boy was right about everything he'd said, and I knew he was suffering. No kid should have to suffer the way he was suffering. His innocence had been taken from him at an early age and from the way he talked, I knew he wished he could restore it somehow. I sort of understood where he was coming from. We'd gone through similar sufferings in the seventies where the single parent era and drug epidemic became popular for black folks. Don't get me wrong, we had our fun, but not as freely as most people. When most other kids were having fun, planning gatherings with friends, and family, most of our thoughts were more geared towards; black power, survival tactics against hate groups, and gang violence that had nothing to do with drugs, and police brutality. At least the ones in the projects, and those concerned about the future were geared that way. As I lay on my bed in my hotel room staring at the ceiling thinking about him, my son that he'd killed, the one that he'd almost killed, and what he'd told me about the sister he never knew, tears streamed slowly down the sides of my face, then out of control. "We the people, we the adults, we the ignorant," I said to myself. "Rather we be the movies or the moviemaker, athletes, politicians, lawyers, businesspersons or everyday people, we, the, whoever, we are, were ruining our kids, and most of us were ignoring it until it was too late to save them." "Not my kid, not my problem." I'd used that excuse until it became my kid and my problem. Those thoughts continued to flow through my mind and I knew that if I didn't find a way to save Gray T, my conscience would never be straight. That night, I made a definite decision to make another change, and that change would be, Gray T.

About the Book
Drugs, gangs, violence, money, sex, incest, death, and then law enforcement: That’s the order of life for many people today, and that’s the order of X5 AND ME. It's character's feel hopeless. But by what some might call unusual circumstances, they are able to rise above what they are told they should be. They actually end up striving for who and what they really are; intelligent people, who were given gifts and talents that become assets to them with some effort, and a will to excel.
About the Author
Although the actions and situations of my characters are real, my books are fictional. These books are not written to pass judgement, but rather with the intent, to open up discussions in these areas. I have chosen to write a series of books on sex, drugs, and manipulation, because this is what is real. This is what I saw and heard, almost on a daily basis, even before working in a position that is highly concerned with crime. There is an urgent need in every day life, for not only discussion, but also ways to help our young people and their parents, cope with conflicts, that are taking over their lives. It seems that sex and drugs are the biggest issues that have most people afraid and confused. Everyday, I see people reaching out for help because of their addictions and stresses. They are struggling to raise children in a world that has become more corrupt and violent each day. Those of you who are spiritual or who read the bible have found that, from the beginning, sex and intoxicators have always been some of the biggest topics ever. They were displayed as the root of most people’s downfall, even entire villages, such as Sodom and Gomorra. Even King David struggled with these aggressors. Today, we seem to cover them up and allow promiscuity and drugs to run wild in our adult lives, our children's lives and throughout our communities. They're being cast off as normal and people feel that they can do little or nothing at all to stop the madness. Some are even too afraid. There is a strong need for direction amongst our youths and adults. There is a strong need for involvement to dissolve unhealthy situations. It is everyone's responsibility to help maintain a comfortable lifestyle not only for ourselves, but also for our slowly failing communities.
