The hot air whipped at her hair and almost burnt her face as the horse fairly flew across the relentless desert. The scenery sped by in a kaleidoscope of images, but Rachel paid little attention to it. Strong male arms were holding her tightly and the feel of his skin on hers gave her goose bumps despite the heat. Rachel took in air in short bursts and tried to concentrate on where she was and what was happening to her. Try as she might she couldn’t focus on it. Her heart skipped little beats and she felt sweat drip down her forehead. She wriggled in emotional discomfort and tried to turn to see whom this incredible male presence belonged to. As she wrenched about in frustration her arms flew out to the sides and beat uselessly at the air. "Rachel. Rachel, stop it. Stop thrashing at me. It’s OK; you’re just having a dream. Wake up." Rachel’s eyes flew open to see her husband, Jared, leaning over her, his head bobbing above her like a cupie doll as the disturbed water of their waterbed sloshed back and forth. "Are you awake now? Are you OK?" he inquired groggily. "Yes, I’m sorry; oh dear, please go back to sleep, Jared." Rachel was grateful for the darkness as she felt her face burn red with embarrassment. It had been another one of those horrible, disturbing dreams. Her whole body was still sweaty from the thought of it. Who was this mystery dream man that upset her sleep so often lately? She certainly couldn’t tell Jared about it, so she urged him to go back to sleep. He was still sleepy enough to readily agree to this suggestion and he rolled over and soon snored gently at her side. Rachel glanced out the window and saw the inevitable fog blowing by in the moonlight. She closed her eyes to it, forcefully turned herself over, shrugged off any thought of analyzing her experience, and firmly decided to think about it tomorrow.

Time Will Tell
The story centers on a bored housewife named Rachel who starts to take an unknown herb called Medewert which seemingly sends her back to a past life in 1780 Arizona amongst the Hopi and Navajo Indians. As she travels back and forth, she confronts many challenges and a new love interest when she is kidnapped to become the bride of a Navajo brave.
Balancing her two lives and the interaction between them is Rachel’s challenge and the struggle seems to present more questions than answers. That is until a new door for her to walk through becomes available. Will she use it? Only time will tell.
About the Author
Born
in Detroit, Michigan about the time of the first Ice Age, I eventually married
and moved to California. Always curious
about life and how it worked. I dabbled
in many disciplines including herbs and alternate medicine, reincarnation and
physics, Christianity and Judaism and the Messianic Israelite movement. The book birthed itself many years ago and
has gone through some reincarnations of its own. It was definitely ahead of its time, but eventually the world has
caught up! I hope you will enjoy reading
this very romantic adventure as much as I enjoyed writing it.
