About the Author
Aaron Braxton is a true renaissance man. He is a teacher, writer, lecturer, actor, and singer who hails from Boston, Massachusetts. A graduate of San Diego University, he is the author of several inspirational children’s plays which have been performed throughout the country. As an award winning teacher, Aaron has worked as a Resource Specialist in the Special Education Department, where he taught low achieving students using various methods in order to assist them in bypassing departmentalized blocks to learning. He has also developed specialized instructional programs in order to improve student achievement. In addition, he has served as a Drama Department Chairperson where he provided new approaches, as well as a substantial review of all aspects of the performing arts. He has also developed many interdisciplinary workshops with colleagues on various methods to using the performing arts as tool across the education curriculum. When not in the classroom, Aaron has also worked as a consultant/facilitator for Job Corp., Stop-Gap, Crittiton House, Anaheim Teen Job Training Corp., AT&T, Los Angeles Unified School District, and the Reid High School Teen Pregnancy Program, on such issues as; drugs, teen pregnancy, AIDS, prejudice, illiteracy, job training, alcoholism, racism, family crisis, rape, goal setting, and education. Aaron is also a highly gifted actor and singer who has starred, guest starred, or co-starred in several feature films, television programs, and touring theatre companies. By always teaching form an artist perspective, Aaron enlightens and empowers his students by offering them the opportunity to think for themselves. When students leave him they are able to challenge information, and view the world on their own terms and from their particular perspectives. He has been praised by parents, peers, and students for his compassion, dedication and hard work.
