Chapter 1
Introduction
(The Story Begins--)
On Sir Joshua Aaron as he kneels and prays...
His thoughts turned to his love who lay there so grim,
The anguish in his heart magnified by her stillness
that lay before him...
The weight of each drop only he could know...
Her beauty more exquisite than that of a Goddess,
Oh, how could he go on; he would so miss her kindness...
He would continue; around his neck, he wore her diamond
as a token...
Of a love that knew the greatest passion,
Young lovers a model of such virtuous fashion...
Chapter 1
Peace in the Kingdom
(The Beggar Becomes A Wizard)
Spreading Unity, Love and Faith to all the inhabitants
of the fiefdom...
The joy they circulated to one and all,
Created a peace that to this day few recall...
Ensured friendship was the key and underlying story...
And the peace lasted for many a wonderful year,
Even King Allevyl’s intentions were remarkably sincere...
Had been touched by the angelettes
spiritual goodness they did bring...
So parents passed this kindness and friendship
on from generation to generation,
The world regarded this Kingdom as a model and inspiration...
returned to the beggar to find,
The poor old man still decrepit, hunchbacked and very blind...
Sir Aaron took the 3rd wish and gave it to him,
Saying he deserved to have the opportunity
to see and fully enjoy the peace and freedom...
On a man so close to death, there

About the Book
The Trilogy of the Legend of Friends is written for parents, grandparents, family and friends to read as a bedtime story. It started out as a cathartic adventure to take writing poetry to a new level – story telling in quatrain (a stanza or poem of four lines) form. It is designed for fun reading with the melodious rhyming to help the reader enjoy the beauty of the sounds of words. Our lives are a collection of our experiences. We all have things that could have happened, should have happened and maybe lucky did not happen. The Trilogy is a fantasy of all three in my life. The chapters contain black stallions, wizards, eagles, owls, Kings, Knights, Princes, Princesses and villains. Each character is someone who directly or indirectly affected my life. The world turns, a celestial cell in The Amazing Universe,
Our home for a moment, each of us spiritual beings so diverse...
We are one, we are many and our love we must show,
Each of us important to the one True God we know...
About the Author
Rodney K. Erb was born in Temple, Texas and graduated from LaFollette High School in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1971, received the Bronze Star for service in Vietnam and was awarded several Army Commendation Medals for his eight Honorable years in the Army. He joined corporate life in 1980 having assignments with prestigious Corporations such as United Technologies, Citicorp/Citibank, Merrill Lynch, and The Hartford Insurance Group. Many of his poems were written during his commute to these assignments in New York City. He is a proud father of three adult children, married over thirty years to the love of his life, president of his own successful computer consulting corporation, director of religious education of his church parish, a tri-athlete and sub-three hour marathoner who loves golfing, body building and keeping physically fit. His love of poetry has inspired him to write several hundred poems many of which can be enjoyed by visiting his web site at
