Lord Give Me A Song
Give me a song that sticks close to my heart
Lord, I know whatever you give me it will never part.
I know you will give me a song that will give you praise,
For the rest of my days.
Give me a song that lifts you higher
A beautiful song that I can sing out loud in the shower,
Regardless of the day or the hour.
Give me a song that dwells in me
For you to see
And allows me to know how you be.
Give me a song that I can praise you all day long,
Even to the crack of dawn.
Give me a song that tells your story
It will make me sing glory.
Give me a song that will give me strength
And magnifies your name to every length.
Give me a song that I can sing all day long
Since I know that you, the one and only true and wise God, sits on the throne.

About the Author
Jacqueline Lofton is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She currently resides in Maryland. She received her Bachelors of Science in Business Management and Masters of Science in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland University College. She began writing at a very early age. She discovered one day that she had a passion for writing, especially poetry. She could be anywhere and she would go into this zone and just start writing poems and short stories.
She would always write poems to her husband to encourage him in any situation. Her husband encouraged her to pursue writing poetry to the highest level.
