SNOW COVERED MOUNTAINS

I want to see snow covered mountains And I want to see skies of blue. I want to smell the salt of the ocean And I want to spend time with you. I've been told my time is short. And I'll be passing on. The things I love will still be here But, soon I will be gone. I want to see snow covered mountains And I want to see skies of blue. I want to hear some of my favorite songs And I want to spend time with you. I thought I had a lot more time. I made a lot of plans. My candle's burning down too soon I just don't understand. I want to see snow covered mountains And I want to see skies of blue. I want to feel the sun on my face, And I want to spend time with you. I look at my life – I get flashes. I see all the things that I've done. Of all the people that mean something to me You are the only one. I want to see snow covered mountains And I want to see skies of blue. I want to dance just one more dance, And I want to spend time with you. |
OUR LAST WALK

We walk to the rhythm of the waves. She whispers words of wonder that I wish were true. The yellow sun sets and sinks below the water line. She scorns me under a Bethlehem sky. I understand her wisdom and I weep. We walk as the waves roll on to the shore. The stars stare at me. I sit and remember. Her softness soothes me to gentle slumber. The warm wind wakes me, And makes me want to hear her words again. Wrought with fear I watch and cry. I'm scared. The sand begins to sting, and I wait some more. Her voice rushes through my mind Like sounds echoing through endless canyon walls. The western sun burns my skin. Cool water calms the fire but not my scorching desire. My woman is gone and I am less than one Without her. Woe is me. |

About the Book
This book is not your average poetry book. Readers on any level can enjoy and understand Good Poetry That Makes Sense. It is witty, intelligent, creative, compassionate, diverse, and personal. It will touch your emotions. It is a mixture of current day subjects like September 11th, sports, Cuban refugees, hurricanes and the Columbine, CO. incident, and timeless topics like love, family and humor. It is much more that just a book of poetry. It is loaded with thousands of ideas and phrases and concepts that anyone can understand and enjoy. The book has one chapter devoted entirely to twenty personal psalms, using the 23rd Psalm as a technical structure. This book started as a compilation of different bits and pieces that reflect things that affected me personally, but, after four years of writing, has become a long list of chapters stemming from my experiences and original ideas.
About the Author
Stephen Foxall Knapp grew up in a small town in Kansas. His father and grandfather were attorneys, but Stephen marched to the beat of a different drum. He was one of the youngest radio announcers in the country at age fourteen. He attended the Air Force Academy, in Colorado Springs. He has a BS double major in Psychology and Sociology from Utah State University, an MBA in Marketing from the University of Houston, and a MPA from Florida Atlantic University. He was a member of the PGA for nine years, and has worked for both Phillips Petroleum Company and Texaco, two of the largest oil companies in the world. Currently, he works for Memcorp, Inc. a distributor of Memorex. He lives in Boca Raton, Florida. He has been married for thirty years and has four children. Nothing about him is average.
