About the Book
The original and sole intent of this book was to review and
numerically derive a theory of gravity that would include an explanation of
its physical origin. As this effort progressed, it became evident to us that
the physical origin of gravity also had wide ranging implications on existing
theories of mass, dark matter, light transmission, and the big-bang. More specifically,
this book reexamines Newton's original theory of gravity, postulates a new definition
for mass, restates Newton's original theory for gravity, and theorizes that
dark matter and its expansion within the universe is the source of gravitational
force. It necessarily followed that the standard textbook explanation of the
"dual nature" of light would more logically be explained as a wave
traversing an all-pervading, diffuse, homogenous and yet-unseen ether or dark
matter. And lastly, this work lends support to recently posed theories that
dark matter constitutes the vast majority of mass contained in the universe,
and that the tangible universe and dark matter are expanding together as a result
of the big-bang. The reformulated theory of gravity and discussion of tangible
mass and dark matter presented here offers an opportunity to unify the physical
laws, empirical observations, and theories of mass, dark matter, gravity, light
transmission, and the big-bang.
About the Author
Joseph L. Poggie majored in Applied Physics
at Hofstra University, on Long Island, N.Y., and at The Florida Institute of
Technology, in Melbourne, Florida. He has more than forty years of Engineering
Research and Development experience most of which is in the aerospace industry
and in the U.S A.A.C. He has spent the majority of the past fifteen years of
his retirement developing the theories presented in this book, and those presented
in “Special Relativity Tested”, published in 2000. He also has had
many articles published in technical publications and magazines.
Robert A. Poggie majored in Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University in 1984 and received Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1986 and 1992. He has over twelve years of experience in orthopaedic research and development, and is currently employed as Director of Applied Research by Implex Corp., located in northern New Jersey. He has over fifteen published articles and sixty abstracts from his work in orthopaedic research and development.
