Samson
This is a story of a man so bold
Of strength and might as it is told
The thirteenth of judges this man would be
A foolish man as some would agree
A man of courage who had no fears
And he judged Israel for twenty years
A woman who was married to a man named Manoah
Was blessed with a son by our Lord God Jehovah
This child would grow to be a deliverer in God’s sight
This child would also be a nazirite
The child grew to a man of folly and fun
Yes, this is the story of the man called Samson
He wasn’t supposed to drink any wine
Or cut his hair at anytime
But we shall follow in his plight
This man who was a nazirite
He told his parents what was on his mind
A wife he wanted, a philistine
They didn’t agree about his choice
The words that were spoken from Samson’s voice
"We wish you to marry from your own kind"
"Not this woman, this philistine"
He took this woman, his bride to be
Then was confronted by a lion as big as he
He killed the lion, he tore it apart
With his bare hands and courage untaught
And no one saw this frightful scene
A feat of strength on a lion so mean
In time one day so bright and sunny
In the carcass of the lion lay bees and honey
So at the feast he proposed a riddle
To all of those who were big and little
"Out of the eater came something to eat"
"And out of the strong came something sweet"
Only Samson knew the answer did he
But to others it was a mystery
