About the Book

"The poems in this collection are reflections upon the Christian seasons within each calendar year.  In winter there are poems about Advent, Christmas and Epiphany.
During spring churches celebrate Lent and Easter. Early Pentecost consumes the summer, and Late Pentecost happens every fall.  These fifty-six poems attest to God's constant, year-round presence and interaction with us humans."

About the Author

Joan Bonnell Clark is an ordained Episcopal deacon serving Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church in Lecanto within the Diocese of Central Florida. Previously she taught creative writing classes on an adjunct contract while working full time as a professor, librarian, and archivist at Rockford College in Rockford, Illinois. Although quite a few of her poems have been individually published, this is her first collection.

Also a novelist, she has co-authored seven inspirational romances with her

friend, Frances-Lee Milgroom, a retired lawyer. Partially completed is Joan's next writing project, a humorous autobiographical account about raising four teenagers as a single mother titled One Acre and Insecurity.

Rev. Clark has four grown children-three girls and a boy-who have gifted her with four grandchildren in the same proportion. An educator at every level, she taught kindergarten, 4th grade, junior high and senior high English before earning a graduate degree in Library Science and becoming a college professor.

Since the recent death of her "big fisherman" husband Sherm, she lives alone in Homosassa, Florida (Manatee Capital of the World) companioned by a frenetic Jack Russell terrier named "Speedy ." Her church duties and writing keep her well occupied when she is not traveling.

Deacon Joan's poetry truly reflects her life journey and how earnestly she has pursued and then recorded her glimpses of God.
