Love, life, and reality...And, so love, life, and reality has its origin and beginning in God. The cause and effect of reality is God. Life is vital existence; life is God. Love is God, and God is love (I John 4:8-16). Reality is an independent absolute from which all else derives cause- that from which anything proceeds and without which it would not exist. Effect is to bring about accomplishment, fulfill, produce or make. What constitutes life? The truth of the matter is God is the source and origin of life for before there was who? What? Where? When? How? Or Why?, God is and did exist and live. God is the past, present, and the future for God is the beginning and ending; the first and the last; the Alpha and the Omega. Before there was nothing, God is and did exist for from everlasting to everlasting, God is God. And God will always be God. God is omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (knows everything), and omnipresent (everywhere all the time at the same time).
Life is beautiful; life is meaningful; life can be seen in God’s beautiful and vast creation: the world, the earth, and every flower that blooms in their multiple glowing colors and fascinating shapes. Life can be felt early in the morning dew that falls from the sky and in the warmth of the noonday sun. Life is waking up after a spring day rain and seeing the majesty of wetness upon the newly budding trees and all the greenery and vegetation of this magnificent earth, God’s very own creation! Let us keep in mind that only God can create. Man can invent, but consequently in order for man to invent, he must have something tangible to begin with, something which God has already created in order to make his invention. There is a vast mystical difference in being the Creator as opposed to being an inventor!
If one has accurate knowledge of God’s word contained in the scriptures which were written by Holy men chosen by God and inspired of God to write only what they saw and heard in visions and dreams revealed to them by God’s Holy Spirit (II Peter 1:20-21, Revelation 1:10). God is and has been the source of life from the beginning of time for God is time. God transcends time and space. Without God, there would be no time or space. God is our living place (Psalm 90:1). In Him, we move, live, and have our being (Acts 17:28). Life is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, which is the gospel and Word of God (Ephesians 3:1-10). There is power in the name Jesus (Acts 3:1-16). When we pray, we should pray in the name of Jesus and according to the will of God so that our requests will be granted from God (Ephesians 5:20, John 14:13-14).
The beauty of life is doing the will of God. We must love God with all of our heart, with all of our mind, with all of our soul, and with all of our strength and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. This means the inclusion of humanity as a whole for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Life is putting love into action in our daily contacts and efforts regarding people and things of the universe. We must put forth all of the effort and strength which God has blessed us with, using the gifts to do good deeds in helping others for everything that we have received are gifts from God (James 1:17, Ephesians 4:7-17). We must show our love for mankind or humanity. Each of us can do our fair share of the work that God, in His infinite wisdom, has selected for us to do. Each of us as Christians has an individual job or task to complete in order to promote the gospel and work of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11-32).
What is love? Love is life; love is God. God is the source of life and love (Genesis 1:1, I John 4:8-16). If love is God and God is life, then life and love are one and the same. Jesus said in John 11:25-26: I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall live: and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? John 14:6 says: Jesus said unto him I am the way, the truth and the life: No man comes unto the Father but by me. And so, as Christians, we have complete assurance that God is life! How can we be sure of this?
- By having complete faith and trust in God.
- Through daily reading and concentrating prayerfully as we read the word of God
- As we read His holy scriptures, we must first ask God to allow His Holy Spirit to help us to understand the word of God found in the Holy Bible.
As finite creatures, we cannot understand or comprehend the word of God if we rely solely upon mere human intellectual abilities. Our potentialities may be excessively extensive, but we must keep in mind that the Bible was written by holy men inspired by God to write (II Peter 1:20-21). The Bible is simply God speaking to us. In this fashion, He has set forth the guidelines and laws which we must observe and obey according to what is written in the Bible.
Life is truly loving our fellow man or humanity. Perhaps, you may ask: "How shall I love humanity?" This can be done, first of all, by reading and studying the word of God daily. By doing so, the word of God will instruct and direct us regarding how we must love God and each other (II Timothy 3:16, Matthew 10:27) after we have prayerfully asked God to assist us with the aid of His Holy Spirit in helping us to understand His word. Mere human intellect cannot comprehend or understand the word of God. There is only one interpretation of the scriptures, which is the Holy Spirit. As I look about me in awesome wonder, at the sunshine that brightly lights the day; the moon and the stars give light to the night; the green grass that grows and covers the ground like a blanket; the trees that supply a place for the birds of the air to live in and provide shelter and shade for the weary traveler as well as shelter from the rain; the crops of corn and fields of wheat; vegetable gardens and vineyards; fruit trees of every sort; the varieties of animals so vast that I cannot list them all; the streams lakes, rivers, seas—lest we forget the sea and the things that are in the sea; the majestic mountains and the deep valleys and the things that live on the mountain tops and the things that live in the valleys below; the multiple colored flowers throughout the earth and with beauty brings joy to the beholder. And when I see man whom God Almighty has created and as I read the book of Genesis, it says: and the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). This evidence leads me to believe that God is life! And, He is eternal! And, He has all power in His hands because God is all-powerful. And, God is in complete control of everything, including time and space for God transcends time and space. God himself is time (Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 43:13, Isaiah 44:6, John 1:1-3 &17, Job 26:7). God is the first and the last. God is the beginning and the ending (Revelation 1:8-11). For before God, there was no god formed and neither shall there be after, for from everlasting to everlasting, God is God. And God Almighty will always be God. God is the source of all power and life. Romans 13:1 says: Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers: for there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God! God is omnipotent in that God is all-powerful. God is omnipresent, which is defined as being everywhere all the time at the same time. Omniscient, meaning—knowing everything! (Job 26:7, Job 37:1-24, Job 38:1-4, Job 39:1-30, Romans 4:17, Psalm 90:1-2).
