A blanket of velvet
Surrounds my thoughts
A pale disc of satin
Lights my way
The sparkling of diamonds
Perceive the dreams that haunt
Night creatures of terror
Hear what I say
A shrill scream of horror
Changes the weather
A man comes to help
All dressed in white
The hero of my dreams
Helps me to conquer
What I can’t see
In the dawning light
The prince of virtue
Help and understanding
Sees what I can’t
When I fall asleep
He helps me to realize
Without future planning
That he is the man
My heart will always keep

About the Book
The title of this book comes from a phrase that I make sure to tell everyone, especially my children, when they say that they love me--No I love YOU more. And this book of poetry has been written over the past 13 years to represent everything that I have felt about those that I truly care or cared about. The lives, the loves, and the losses of everyone including me.
About the Author
Monica grew up in Providence, RI and has been writing short stories and poetry since she was 11 years old. Passionate about everything she has ever done, you can see how she feels just by reading her work.
