Mission

Give me the strength to walk alone

To follow my own convictions

To cast my insecurities aside

Not to be fooled by others

Nor weak in the presence of fear

Guide me toward prosperity

And lead failure astray

Knowledge shall send me to wisdom

To clarify and purify my soul

Allow my eyes to see beyond

And relish in the beauty of nature

To walk ahead of the others

Driven forcefully by destiny and fate

Do not allow melancholia to arise

And let my gait command respect

Give me the ability to step back

And see each moment for what it is

Let truth be shown in many hues

And simplicity be my goal

Striving constantly to better my being

And never to look back at regret

I alone rule my domain

And set forth to conquer all

Let me taste life’s gifts

To dance naked in the sun

Drinking from earth’s pure water

Splashing against the stones

Reaping the fruits of our fathers

Fresh juice to feed my soul

Giving me life

Feasting on nature’s materials

Cherishing all it sends forth

What comes from its soil

To learn from the bush doctor

Found in St. Lucia

To be cleansed by nature

Freeing myself with its herbs

With its roots

And travel to Souifere

To see the floating markets

Their small handmade rafts

Gently keeping the water below

Living off their sales

Of conch and coconuts
