You flower like a tree as you awaken to your
spiritual self. You carry radiantly
colored blossoms and all is bright and good.
Then, daily life happens and it seems as if your blossoms wilt and fall
away from you as you become more and more immersed in deadlines, routine,
dashed expectations, world affairs, and personal crises.
You may look at your bare branches and feel
depressed or confused or even resentful toward Nature for once providing you
with such beautiful reminders of Its presence with you, then leaving you to
stand naked against the elements.
You may have many seasons of blossoming and
wilting. Then, this year, you blossom
and bear fruit. You realize Nature has
provided you with enough spiritual nutrition that you now have a crop of
spiritual food to share with everyone you encounter.
You may still have dormant seasons, but you always
have the potential in you to produce more fruit. This is how you are built.
Nature created you, a being, with all the structures, all the
intelligence, all the soul, and all the natural know-how to be able to produce
spiritual fruit. It is all there, all
the time.
The point rests here: The enlightened guru and wise spiritual advisor that you may or
may not be seeking, lie within you.
They are you. That wisdom
is the part of you that is intuition, that is stillness and calm when life is
swirling around you. It is what you
truly are. It is what you were before
you had a body. That Wisdom is your
essence. It is the spark, in you, from
the Divine Fire that created you.
Simply put, you are your Spiritual Self.
Be Still
Be like the still water
of a windless day;
calm and clear,
reflecting everything in it
that shines on it.
Rippling anxious water
shows nothing except
impulsive grayness.
Be still like calm water,
for the more still you become,
the more clearly
you will reflect
the qualities of your soul.

About the Author
Joelle has written poetry since the age of 14. Individual poems have been published in North
Country and Peaceful Journeys; The International Library of Poetry.
She is a lifetime seeker of truth and spent many
years immersed in the sea of religion.
She now chooses to nourish her spiritual self through various other
forms of spiritual food.
Joelle believes every person is equal to
every other, the same Spirit animates us all, and we all have the same
potential to give and receive love and to manifest goodness in the world.
She knows this book can be a tool to accomplish that
