About the Author

Jack A. Little was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan.  For years he has been sharing with family and friends with the many entertaining stories that come from the snapshots of his life.  Encouraged, he began writing this classic six-week tale.  It is an action packed adventure chock-full of excitement and fun about two boys who run away from home in the winter of 1938.

Jack returned from this journey to finish the school year but with only one more year to go, he took off again; this time he rode his motorcycle to California to become a Merchant Marine.  With only 70 miles to go, he smashed into a 1941 Ford and changed his life forever.  After recovery, he returned home, earned his high school diploma and then joined the wartime Navy.

Jack has been a successful licensed builder for 40 years.  His life has been built on hard work, humor, appreciation for the simpler things and most of all, love for his family.  In reading this story, you will meet the boy who is much the same as the man he has become.  The name “Bill” in this story is honestly the author Jack A. Little.
