Reflections On A Long Life
There has been rising interest in poetry in recent years, especially in America. Unfortunately, like some chamber music (written for virtuoso musicians) many poems are not understood by the average reader. In contrast, Mr. Fields writes poetry everyone can enjoy. A few poems will make you laugh. All the poems will appeal to readers looking for insights into their own feelings about life, love and the hereafter.
This beautiful book is a reflection on the exciting past century where the author spent 78 years of his life, observing and experiencing the great events of that era.
About the Author
John Peter Fields spent 4 years in the U. S. Army Air Force during WWII and served in both Italy and China. He has two children and four grandchildren. He and his wife live in Manchester, NJ and spend their winters in Hilton Head, SC. The business world provided the family’s income but art, music and poetry were the author’s lifetime avocations.
Mr. Fields studied music theory in his early years and had planned to be an arranger. In later years he made art his hobby, studying under accomplished artists in Boston, New York and New Jersey. He has sold original works at juried shows and Blue Heron Gallery in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The museum of Hilton Head currently sells his colorful Lighthouse prints.
Mr. Fields’ realistic, easy –reading poetry is an offshoot of lyric writing.
