This book is about the Teleios
Technique and how to use it for removing blocks to spiritual growth and for
spiritual healing. The word “Teleios” is the Greek word for “whole, complete or
one.” It is from the passage in the New Testament that could be translated as,
“Be ye therefore complete (whole or one), even as your Father, which is in
heaven, is complete (whole or one).” (Matthew 5:48) The aim of the Teleios
Technique, as a method of body/mind and spiritual healing, is to help the self
and others to be whole. This includes the body/mind, soul and spirit, in all
its dimensions; as well as our oneness with all of humanity, space, time and
the whole universe. Since God is in All That Is, then wholeness can also be
described as being in touch with the God within, with one’s divinity, as well
as the Creator God and Source of All That Is ‘out there.’ The Teleios Technique
uses many modifications of traditional, as well as innovative, methods to
assist the process of removing blocks to being whole and to being spiritual.
The Teleios Technique goes beyond the different methods that focus on physical
health, mental health or emotional health to focus on the total person,
including our own divinity, interpersonal relationships, our connection with
our guardian angel plus our spiritual oneness and connection with the universe.
The aim of the Teleios Technique
is to remove blocks to being one with one’s self, others and the universe,
through the use of various therapeutic and healing techniques and to become
whole through spiritual healing. Through various protocols, the intent is to
help others and ourselves be in touch with and operate from our souls, rather
than be controlled by our self-centered, fear-ridden egos. The Teleios
Technique is based on drawing upon universal consciousness and angels to aid
the healing process. The Teleios Technique’s goal: to be in touch with our
Selves and with our own divinity. In addition, it is an eclectic process
bringing together bits and pieces of many therapeutic and spiritual healing
traditions and techniques I have found useful in my own healing process and in
helping others to be able to get in touch with their divine nature more
quickly. This is done without any need for identification with any particular
religious tradition. One aim is to experience the spiritual heart of all
religions, which is direct communication with God and the divinity within each
of us.
In developing this eclectic
approach, the aim has been to create processes, protocols and techniques that
can be learned and used by anyone committed to acknowledging, incorporating and
incarnating God in their lives. Professional healers and body workers can use
The Teleios Technique for their own personal spiritual growth or with clients.
It can also be used by laypersons willing to incorporate the various techniques
and meditative practices into their daily way of life. Although not
specifically covered in this training manual, exercise, a healthy diet,
adequate pure drinking water and restful sleep are presupposed or recommended,
if not already part of one’s life style.
This manual is based on many new
theories and the results of personal research in addition to many traditional
protocols. The basic belief underlying the various processes is panentheism.
This is the affirmation that God is in all things. Since this includes us, finding the God of love and light
within us becomes one of the aims of the healing process. In this book, God and
Consciousness are considered terms referring to the same reality. Since God is
Consciousness, many of the techniques are to free us from blocks that keep us
from experiencing this Consciousness within us. As Candice Pert has pointed
out, the peptides, as information, flow through our bodies, creating a network
of the endocrine, immune, meridian and nervous systems. By trusting in this
process and removing blocks to the free flow of information or consciousness
through our bodies, we can get in touch with the soul and our ability to be loving, to be loved and to be love.
It is recommended that anyone
seriously interested in using this book for their own spiritual growth find
another person to work with and take turns using the following procedures on
each other. By exchanging sessions, one learns both the healer and the client
roles. By being the client, one learns how to integrate the techniques and
changes that result from using them in everyday life. One’s own spiritual life
can be enhanced and advanced by working reciprocally with a partner since this
is a practical workshop in ‘walking the talk’, in learning to communicate love
and acceptance and in practicing forgiveness. By learning with a partner as the
healer, it gives one a sense of how to use a given technique to attain the best
results.
By sharing the growth process,
the interaction between the two partners working together, is itself a part of
the learning process since the techniques are designed to release our blocks to
giving and receiving love. Working together will create a real situation within
which the degree of openness to each other will indicate the relative success
of the various processes. Being both healer and client gives the person in
training an opportunity to learn from both roles: how to use a technique and to
learn how it affects one as a client. It also allows the healer a chance to
work out the best ways to use a given technique and make modifications to open
up to using and trusting one’s own innate and intuitive abilities.
The major and more innovative
focus of this book is on spiritual healing. This expression can be interpreted
as overcoming our separations from our spiritual nature by removing our blocks
to recognizing and identifying with our spiritual nature. In the following,
this is referred to as the function of the healer. We will draw on various techniques
developed by psychologists, psychiatrists, massage healers, energy healers,
body workers and stress management healers, but with modifications, since our
intent is different. Most psychotherapeutic techniques were developed to help
individuals cope and handle their emotions. Problems and patterns requiring
psychotherapeutic intervention may need to be solved with a professional
therapist before a person can open up to the transpersonal area.
The first section introduces
modifications of psychotherapeutic techniques I have found to be most effective
and less time consuming in releasing negative blocks and changing neurotic
patterns. Our aim is not just to be able to cope with an increasingly crazy and
stressful world. Our intent is to remove the barriers to becoming more
spiritual and to operate from identification with our spiritual selves rather
than the fear based ego. To reach this point, it is often necessary to overcome
immature ways of experiencing love and interpersonal intimacy. For this, the
psycho-physiological pattern often needs to be altered before a person can be
open to give and receive love in a mature, sharing way.
There is no intent, in this
manual, to represent any particular school of psychotherapy accurately,
although I will try to give credit to the various approaches from which I have
learned. Aspects that are useful in clearing out negativity are often modified,
based on how
