Rick L. Gant- A skilled and seasoned chef/caterer with more than 20 years experience in the restaurant industry. During his culinary career he has cheffed at several well known restaurants, upscale food markets and hotels in the New Jersey-Pennsylvania tri-state area. Former co-chef owner/caterer of FusZionfire Catering Services, LLC (specializing in cross cultural fusion cuisine). Rick also caters private parties for family and friends. Rick has a love for southern/soul food, French and Italian food. His other area of specialty has been Cajun, French and Mediterranean cooking. For the past 15 years he has incorporated and fused these into his own unique take on fusion, that's "Off the Hook"! Rick approaches cooking with an "Outta Sight" (as the Godfather of soul said it best), "Time To Get Your Groove On", "It's Showtime" and "Let's Get Live" attitude along with heart, passion and love. Rick says his dishes reflect his personality best by being simplistic, diverse, creative, artistic, crazy-wild and home-style. Rick always cooks with an "outside of the box" mentality and approach to make all his dishes unique. He then throws them a twist or two as his own personal signature mark. When it is time to show case his best dishes and entrees, he always puts his best foot forward and expects nothing less. Cook with love, cook with passion, be diverse, be different but remember through your culinary creations: ALWAYS BE YOU! Rick is currently employed as an executive chef/kitchen manager at a prominent child developmental day school in the Central New Jersey area, where he also resides. Rick currently has other culinary projects underway.

About the Author
Chef Frederick Gant known as “Ricky” or “Slick” is from Central New Jersey in his early childhood years he was exposed to a great deal of Traditional Southern Cooking and soul foods. His primary influences were his Grandmother, Mom and Dad. There he got his first taste of cooking which began at age twelve. In his middle to late twenties he began to apply what he had learned over the years to his cooking style. He brought his unique cooking style and talents to cook for area church, family and friends. During this time Chef Gant had received much feedback and encouragement from family and friends to pursue a professional cooking career as a gourmet cook or chef. Then in late summer in 1989 he realized his dreams of one day of becoming a gourmet cook and chef and went on to attend the Culinary Arts and Baking Art Program at the Bucks County Community College in Bucks County, PA. There he earned and hold his Certificates in Culinary Arts and Baking. He is currently retired and living in Central New Jersey.
