Orgo
lay in smoldering ruins. A faint glimpse
of light occasionally flashed rapidly by from her sister planet, Mars. No great building remained standing. Darkness and destruction crushed all beauty
and destroyed all hope.
The
huge Alligator King rested briefly, pausing in his search for Argo. Only three of the black powerful cats
remained. Argo had led the rebellion
that destroyed this planet. Two super
powers couldn’t abide side by side. He
would have Argo’s power for himself.
Only then would he be the greatest power of all.
Alliwong
got up slowly, his heavy back shell finally settling into place. It was time to start searching again. He would never stop until he found her.
Three
dark forms slipped gracefully along.
Every moment was crucial. The
spaceship was ready. They had convinced
their daughter, Argo to leave. The baby
she was carrying was destined to become a great super hero. His power would be unmatched. The unborn baby‘s life was in great
danger. Argo could survive on
earth. Her new name would be Swamp Cat.
Argo
was a noted doctor before their planet was destroyed by the alligator
people. Only memories of the beauty and
technology remained. Their planet had
been lovely. Tall buildings reached high
in the sky. Computers ran everything. Orgo’s technology was far superior to
earths. What a pity two super powers
couldn’t exist together. Now, everything
was gone.
The
three cats stopped in front of a small space ship hidden behind the charred
buildings. It was the only one left, just
big enough for one occupant. The time
for Argo to leave had come. If she
didn’t the Alligator King would destroy her and her unborn son. Argo loved people. She would do well on earth. They said their last tearful goodbyes and
Argo was gone.
From
a distance the Alligator King watched.
He couldn’t get to Argo in time to stop her from leaving. It didn’t matter; he would follow her and
take her powers. She would never have a
child destined to become a super hero.
He would destroy it.
Swamp
Cat was resting on her favorite spot in the swamp, a huge square rock that over
looked the swamp for many miles.
Instantly she was fully alert. An
evil presence hung heavy in the air. She
could remember coming to earth to save her life. Alliwong was here. She had given him a merry chase all over
Orgo.
Suddenly
a loud roar upset the peaceful darkness.
A green light as bright as day settled around Swamp Cat. An evil voice followed the roar.
“Argo,
I found you at last. Did you really
think you could hide from me? I’m gonna
take you to your parents stripped of all your powers and reduced to nothing.”
Swamp
Cat knew Alliwong had more power, but she was smarter and faster. His thick back shell slowed him down. He depended on his strength instead of his
thinking ability.
“I
like this place,” Alliwong went on.
“I’ll get rid of these earth people and take over this planet.”
Swamp
Cat jumped high in the air and came down on top of Alliwong’s back with a heavy
limb. The branch didn’t phase
Alliwong. He slung his tail knocking
Swamp Cat a long way off.
A
great battle raged. The Alligator King
was tough. There was no doing battle
with him physically. Swamp Cat finally
slipped away. There was more than one
way to win a battle. She had to have a
plan. The Alligator King must leave
before he hurt any of the earth people she had come to love.
The
early morning sunrise brought new problems.
She received a message from Joe.
She had given him a disk to wear around his neck. He could reach her at any time. Joe wanted to see her. She had met Joe one day when he came to the
swamp. They had talked for many hours
together. She wanted to see Joe, but
today was not the day. Oh, no, the
person I love the most just can’t be in this battle, thought Swamp Cat.
Joe
stood on the small dock.
