I’ve missed a lot.
Wow, I'm out of the worldly loop
as far as many things are concerned.
Freedom of thought is dead. In
fact, things are beginning to take on a more plastic look than I originally
thought. Things are beginning to look
like the book, A Brave New World.
Everything is run by some kind of corporation or by the use of
soma/ecstasy (not just in Raves!). I
know it's not seriously as bad as the book, but it does look like no one is
able to think for themselves anymore.
When I walk around the streets – which isn't as often as I'd like –
people seem apathetic towards everything, especially each other. Self-Absorption mixed with Propaganda plus
Paranoia and You equals SAPPY, which is what this world has become. But then, I suppose things have been like
this for a long time, just not as prevalent, or perhaps I just didn't
notice. Either way, it bothers me
because it seems that the corporations have taken over the people and our way
of life more than the government has or has been able to, and because of that,
things now seem to be better, but not in a good way. They’ve done this through the massive use of propaganda and by
telling people what they NEED to have to survive. Thereby controlling the minds of the people and phasing out the
parts of us (whether it is tools or thoughts) that makes us instinctual humans
with a purpose. Now we are all becoming
mindless drones buying the shiniest toy with the most buttons, which in reality
accomplishes nothing more than whatever it is replacing. For example, VHS is dead, giving way to DVD,
and the newly forming optical chips; which only gives you the ability to watch
behind the scenes crap, a supposed better picture, and push more buttons. Personally, I’d rather watch a movie for the
thought-provoking plot, not the behind the scenes BS and a clearer picture;
it’s surreal.
But then on the other side of the
coin there are the people that try to
think for themselves and only end up with one solution, and that is to screw up
the system and their lives with some kind of horrible, crime ridden
life-style. Out of all the life-style
choices, you pick crime? What is the
point of that, to beget the image of being a rebel? It's pointless, because you will always eventually get caught,
and no one wants to get caught, because that'll change their image from a
criminal, to a loser. --I’m being a
pessimist, I’m sure there are still people out there that don’t buy into the
aforementioned garbage, because they think like me, or because they just can’t
afford it, but even if they can’t afford it, they will eventually rationalize
into thinking like me, or they will put themselves into billions of dollars
worth of debt.
Oh well, until we have thought
police, I'll have nothing to worry about, and nor will anyone else. For until that happens, we all still have
limited First Amendment Rights that insure our ability to do or say whatever we
want, in moderation, so long as it does not impede or piss off any one group
that can substitute its name with an acronym or ends with -ists. But then it's always been like this, only
now the decline has escalated to a level far lower than any high I could ever
reach no matter how low I squat, because, for every reform, people will always
find a way to cheat the system and or ruin the ideals of others. It is a simple matter of Physics; for every
action there is an equal and opposite reaction; it is an undeniable truth in
our universe, and things will never change, save for the tools that we use to
make those reactions and the peoples’ names that carry out the actions, for
people are also the same, and in a constant cycle of rebirth. It is sad but comforting that our world is
nothing more than a gigantic blue and green rerun of itself, constantly
supplying the same changes and entertainment for its unsuspecting audiences,
where the only thing that truly changes is the individual mind and the things
that are socially acceptable to the masses.
--So like I said, I'm out of touch, and am old school.
But on the plus side, root beer
still exists, and Yoo-Hoo now makes many different flavors of milk like
substance. But that’s enough for today,
I’m all out of things to notice and bitch about – TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
