Imagine That

Imagine if the truth came out and Superman was really only Clark Kent.
Couldn’t fly, couldn’t dodge bullets, no steel could be bent.
The man of steel wasn’t really steel.
Think of that, and think how would you feel?

What if every hero was a zero?
No woman of Wonder.
No Hulk, only Bruce Banner.
Imagine the mighty Thor with no hammer.

So who would be the new hero?
Who would be the replacement?
Would we have replacements or would we hire someone to find out where the old hero’s went?

I was once a hero then the truth came out.
My believer grew up and saw my imperfections.
My “magic” was proven to be slight of hand and misdirection.

Time killed my hero status.
Maybe one day I will own a cape again.
Trick a young mind into seeing someone I’ve never been.

Maybe one day I will become a real hero.
Imagine that.

Almost Slept

While at your house early this morning I almost slept.
But you wouldn't let me.

You kept me awake by saying my name and gentle kisses.
Kisses that became less and less gentle...
More and more passionate...

I never found the sound of my own name seductive until...
I heard it from your lips.
At times I theorize that maybe it's not my name that so seductive.
Maybe it's those lips.
Those lips saying my name cause audio ecstasy. I'm not sure.

Once I arrived at my home I almost slept.
But thoughts of you wouldn't let me.
