DEDICATION
“I dedicate The How To
Self Publish Micro Poem to the novice who is confused by the tons of books on
self publishing that offer too much jargon. Unsurprisingly, there are only a
few pages dedicated toward the actual process of self publishing a book in The Disilgold Way. And– you
thought this would be difficult? My goal was to stir you with motivation, and
get you to enjoy the process by making note of my own experiences which I kept
document of through daily Journaling. You may not be interested in beginning an
organization for writers like you, or starting up your own advertising,
marketing and publicity firm, or even creating a magazine, but I must tell you
that each step I have taken has played a critical role during my journey. I
would not be here without each step. Every step has counted. Nothing was ever
in vain. Your actions become
part of a full circle that will inevitably bring you success and
in the way you want to succeed. Success has different meanings for many people.
For me, I wanted to be able to write for a living, continue my career as a
teacher, help other writers, and as well as seek help from those who have
become true friends. I wanted to live on the legacy of The Covington’s, a
remarkable family of highly intelligent folks whom I never thought I could
aspire to represent as I worked daily to see if I had that “magic” that my late
grandfather told me I had too. I made many mistakes before I found this
“magic.” As a child, just hearing these stories became a self fulfilling prophecy
as it is for many writers who speak just as highly of their families. The
“magic” has finally sparked, and there is no turning back. This is my destiny
that I share with my friends and those who come across this book. I never take
a day for granted. I never take anyone for granted. I believe that the folks I
have met are part of my destiny. Their strength is my strength, and if the
strength fades, it is my inherit “write” to rebuild the motivation. Why? If my
roots die, I die...literally. Writers need support, and each other. It is like
a lifeline that cannot be understood until one begins to write, and cannot be held on to until
one becomes a published author. I also,
send my blessings to those who already know some of the technical aspects of
self publishing. Think back to when you were a novice, and appreciate the
moment when self publishing was a perplexing endeavor. Enjoy the process and
reminisce over the dilemmas along the way. There is still much to learn, for a
self publisher never stops learning, or rather a self publisher who wants to be
successful. Empower yourself Writer. Read this book in its entirety and judge
no one but yourself on your way to success.
THE IMAGINE POEM
Dedicated to Dawn Rodriguez: An Aspiring
Poet
Imagine books published by you
and just sitting on your coffee table like a work of art.
Imagine sending invitations to your friends
for a Tea Party, wine, crackers and cheese.
How about a video of your reading of excerpts,
and perhaps a live taped book discussion or CD?
Imagine an enlarged poster of your book,
and friends signing your poster before they leave to wish you well.
Imagine acquiring the photos of a successful book signing party
and creating another reminiscent section for your new book.
Imagine the joy of sending follow up thank you letters
and a copy of the photos or video of the event.
Imagine helping other aspiring writers at your celebration
to get published and all while having some dessert.
Imagine hosting these celebrations once a week.
