About the Book

‘Love and Expectations’ is a sequel to Red Fox’s bestseller ‘Paddy’s Choice.’ In many respects it’s different from other books. It records reverence for Paddy’s marriage to Margaret O’Leary and the expectations for and of their eleven children. It is a fascinating story of a young couple madly in love, facing the possibility of being separated because of war but deciding they would proceed with their marriage. It also tells of the loss of two children. It does not tell all but it tells plenty about happiness, laughter, sorrow and the rebirth of happiness and laughter over and over again. The love of each other and within the family was enormous and the expectations of each and everyone were vast. There were times when the paycheck wasn’t sufficient to buy a new pair of shoes but there was plenty of healthy food and expectations that a new pair of shoes would be forthcoming very soon. The book is about inspiration, sorrow, love, happiness and expectations.

About the Author

Only the author can fervently relate to the facts and nuances in his latest book “Love and Expectations.” The author was born on a farm, the fourth of six children, but left the farm to attend school in Texas where he studied Writing, Public Speaking, English and History. He wrote essays to newspapers and magazines-mostly about matters of public interest such as flood control of rivers, equal rights and the need for national health insurance for the sick and elderly. He also is an accomplished artist and uses the medium of oils and acrylics to paint life into old barns, winter scenes, fishing streams, cottages and scenes of nature, enhancing his ability and imagination to write interesting tales of fact and fiction. Currently, the author resides in a Chicago suburb with his wife of 60 years, close to his children and their friends.
