A Poetic Word

** No Weapon **


The devil always seems to stay on top of me
Pricking to see how much I can take
He tramples and pricks holes in a wounded heart
To rip from me the last of my faith


And I’m starting to feel forgotten by my father
Like a stranger who’s path was taken
And I can’t help but feel and ask him
Father, why is it me that thou has forsaken


But I know that’s just the devil
Confusing my mind to get me back
But I can’t shake this hurt and pain
Nor free myself from his attack


But yet I still find within myself
A desire to be close to my lord
A yearning to stay in His presence
And a need of guidance like never before


So I cry out to Him for my healing
And know that no weapon on this earth shall prevail
no devil in hell, nor spirit of the flesh
Will cause me to fall back and fail


I will stay in the graces of my father
I will remain faithful and true
To the vision God has placed before me
And a job that I must do


So I shake that spirit off my shoulder
For this soul the devil will not capture
For I bind him in the name of Jesus and know
That “no weapon that’s formed against me shall prosper”

There I was
Free as the wind
Amongst the shimmer of the clouds
And the music in my ears
Surrounded by a familiar comfort

There I was
Calm as the sea
Like an angel running free
With joy in my heart
And nothing formed against me

There I was
With peace in my soul
My mind was whole
As I fell in the breeze
And danced amongst the trees

There I was
Surrounded by so much love
As the sun shined on me from above
And pierce my soul to everlasting peace
As I slept in the arms of God
