About the Book

Memoirs of a Home Cook is a collection of recipes and the wonderful stories which make them so special.    Beginning with her childhood right up to her busy life as a wife and mother of three, Amy Currie has compiled over 200 recipes inspired by friends and family.

What could be better than enjoying a home cooked meal?  For the cook, it’s all about simple yet elegant with a minimum of fuss.  These recipes are easy to prepare with plenty of time saving tips, yet they still manage to capture the magic of old family favorites as well as dinner party fare. The twelve chapters break down into standard sections from hors d’oeuvres to desserts and everything in between.  Recipes range from easy beef burgundy for the novice cook to boeuf bourguignon for those who are more experienced.  In addition, there are many child friendly recipes from macaroni and cheese to crunchy after school snack as well as entertaining favorites like bacon toasties and raspberry baked Brie.  Whether the crowd is family or friends, it all comes down to crowd-pleasing recipes, and when the cooking comes from the home and the heart, it’s always sure to please.

About the Author

Since she was a young girl growing up in suburban Philadelphia, Amy Currie has been cooking, baking and creating in the kitchen. She was inspired by all that she learned from her grandmother; Nanny before she could even read a recipe.  Today she lives with her husband and three children outside of New York City.   Entertaining is a big part of Amy's life, but it is the everyday creations in the kitchen that excite her passion for cooking. After a lifetime of cooking for family and friends, she is sharing what she knows in a cookbook about the joys of being a home cook.   According to Amy, there is no greater gift than a home cooked meal and the satisfaction of creating it is deliciously contagious throughout the pages of her memoir.
