Straight From My Uncensored Heart is a collection of life experiences that have caused both positive and negative effects on the author’s life. The pages capture the inside of a heart that was predestined and determined to overcome traumatic obstacles. Everybody has their own way of verbalizing their thoughts and emotions. LaShawn Childs thought it was safer to express herself on paper until God delivered her from her fear of communicating with others.

This book pays tribute to some people who assisted LaShawn during some difficult moments in her life. It also expresses gratitude to some loved ones who witnessed the author celebrate some special occasions.

Born and raised in Salina, Kansas, LaShawn Childs accepted Christ at the early age of nine. After completing high school, LaShawn received a Master’s degree in Community Counseling. She is married to Carlester Childs and has two children, Cyle and Camille. LaShawn has taught adult Sunday school and youth bible classes. She has been the featured speaker at women’s conferences. Together with her husband, she has presented godly relationship seminars, evangelism workshops, and taught vacation bible school. She is now using her gift of poetry to share God’s healing power with the world.
