Radical, Seeking, Set And Confused
Radical, Seeking, Set And Confused
Went on a journey, an adventurous cruise
Seeking said, "Men, we have nothing to lose"
Radical said, "Boys, we're making the news!"
And Set? Well, decisions are things he won't choose
I'll follow the others", thought poor old Confused.
So Set (in his ways) just sat on the bay
While Seeking and Rad and Confused sailed away
The seconds and minutes and hours turned to days
And days turned to weeks underneath the suns rays
Seeking said, "Men, we are well on our way!"
Radical yawned as Confused cried and prayed
Then one day while sailing the men came to dock
On the strongest of
Radical screamed, "Oh my LORD, I've been bored!"
He leaped from the boat with both hands on his sword
I've left aunts and uncles and nephews and nieces
I've come for a fight to cut someone to pieces
I do not know who and I do not know why
But if I don't kill something I'm soon going to die!"
He'd come to that land, He'd come there by sea
He'd come there to conquer, yes that was his need
On misguided ventures his soul seemed to feed
Yes, lackluster boredom was his enemy
He jumped from the boat as it still sat afloat
Looking for gargoyles or dragons to smote
While Seeking and Confused were still at the dock
Rad looked for demons beneath every rock
And though he saw nothing as these rocks were flipped
He gave names to demons, they gushed from his lips
And finally when Radical had worn himself out
He went to the bayside and sat down to pout
I've lost all my fight! I've lost all my shout!
I've flipped rocks and flipped rocks and burned myself out
I've traveled this travel, roamed all I shall roam"
He jumped in the boat and said, "I'm going home"
So he left that old island, left the others behind
Without that old boat Confused was losing his mind
And Rad sailed for minutes and hours and days
To join his old buddy, Mr. Set In His Ways
When Rad returned home to greet his old friend
Set said, "I knew you would come home again
You see, friend I sit here all desperate and blue
'Cause I used to be a radical too"

Kevin Alawine is a CAD operator and programmer. He is a born-again Christian and the single dad of two wonderful boys, Caleb and Corey. Although he works full time he has been involved in several areas of Christian ministry including preaching, teaching, evangelism and music. He has a passion for writing with the hope of bringing glory to his first love and Savior, Jesus Christ. Kevin originally began writing songs with an occasional poem until one day a friend put one of his poems on a web page and it drew the attention of many people from several countries across the globe.
