HAWAII: How To Plan Your Trip

About the Book
This book's explanation of how to
plan a vacation to Hawaii is not the result of an intensive search or research
on the world wide web. Nor is it extracted from the
many available Hawaiian commercials, advertisements, or brochures. It is not a
study made from visits to the nearby library. Rather, this writing is a
combination of gathered, enjoyable facts and ideas from my many family visits
to the Ohau Island - Honolulu, Hawaii. Therefore, the
concept of planning, visiting certain entertainments, eating "here and
there" are not mental impressions from books, brochures, or printed
materials. The details listed are personally tried and tested. The selections
of tours, visits, modes of transportation, etc., are totally mine, gathered
from walking many blocks, traveling on local buses, and riding merchants’
transportation.
Even if you plan your trip
through a travel agency, this book will help you to seek out the "best of the best" in a
vacation to the land of "fun in the sun." It will alert you to ask important questions
to your agent, and other involved personnel. Perhaps, the chapter on
definitions/explanations will add comfort to your travel.
About the Author
Delton Collins was born and
reared in a rural setting in South Georgia. At the nearby village, he attended
high school until he was old enough to join the United States Army. Following
that early military tour, he re-enlisted for the United States Airborne Corps.
Immediately after graduating The Airborne School, he was sent to Korea. During
this assignment, he received two Purple Heart Awards and other commendations.
Completing this enlistment, he was discharged from the 82nd Airborne Division.
A short time later, this high
school drop-out graduated from two universities; he re-entered the United
States Army as an officer.
He was soon sent to Vietnam. At
normal R&R time, he received orders for Hawaii; his family met him there.
Since that early visit and retiring from the military, he and his family have
visited the island many, many times...with no travel agency involved.
Mr. Collins has written other
articles; "Nights and Days of Hell." (His experience from a combat
parachute jump made in Korea), "My Introduction to Electricity,"
Georgia magazine, and "The Escape Syndrome" for the United States
Army. In group writing competition, he won first place in prose and second
place in poetry.
