About the Book
“Abdallah
and The Bright Strings” is a story about a boy from the Sultante
of Oman who plays the oud. He loves the instrument but wishes that its
tone would be brighter.
He meets some Western youngsters,
in particular, a girl who plays mandolin, an instrument with a very bright
tone. They exchange lessons and learn
about each others music, each other’s culture, etc.
The book is multicultural,
