Dare I?
“Dear God, tell me what it is
That I should know?”
When I say this prayer
Am I merely talking to
My Fourth Dimensional self?
My inner self?
Or my Guidance?
Do I stop and listen to hear the silence,
The beating of my heart,
The external noises,
Waiting for the still voice within,
Which is myself,
Listening to me respond?
Who answers when I pray?
Is it me listening to myself?
Is it the outer self?
Is it all extensions of myself?
Or is it everything:
The earth, the sky, the galaxies,
The universe, the cosmos
The voice deep within--
Is it God?
Dare I think I’m so expansive
As to be all of everything
Like a cosmic lattice
Which is attached to everyone and everything?
Am I the light?
The energy of love?
Am I this cosmic lattice?
When I speak with Sacred Intent,
Do multitudes around the world
And other worlds hear?
Am I this divine unseen energy
Manifested in form in this dimension
To spread light
And raise the vibration
Of all life?
Dare I dream I am that grand?
That divine?
That powerful?
Are my presence and essence so exalted
That I can spiritually expand
To embrace the earth
In my aura?
Dare I believe that where I walk
Light is transmitted
Into the deepest parts of Gaia,
Just by treading?
Just by divine intent?
Just by letting myself remember
Who I really am?
When I meditate
Or send light
Or love to the world
Or to myself,
Am I in command
With Guidance around me
For support and comfort?
Dare I shed the shackles of fear,
Doubt, ignorance, poverty, and insecurity
To trust myself?
To pick up the divine mantle of responsibility
And just know
I AM Divine
I AM constantly protected,
I AM never alone,
I AM an Angel
Walking this earth
In an amazing disguise of duality?
Dare I really think
I am that awesome,
That all of this is within me?

About the Book
There
is only a short breath between one's spiritual feelings and the words that
reside inside each of us. This is a book
of insights generated from spiritual feelings, which are experienced by reading
the poems aloud during or after meditation and prayer, or whenever one's need
calls for a connection to the essence within.
Selected poems can also be read as a meditation by themselves.
All
the poems are uplifting and appeal to the soul, and may transform your way of
thinking about life and the universe.
The
author hopes that you feel the blend of faith and living spiritual currents
that motivated these poems. The world
propelling these words is one that is beyond dogma and beyond judgment.
About the Author
Gloria Lindsay is a retired junior high school teacher, with a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA, and a Master of Science in Education from USC. She has two daughters-the younger one she home-schooled until age thirteen. She has embraced spirituality with zeal and enthusiasm. Following a book study of Lee Carroll''s THE NEW BEGINNING, led by Paula McIntyre, she awakened one morning from a vivid dream in which she saw herself as a poetess, reading and writing poems.
Encouraged by this experience, and receiving constant support from her husband, daughters, and friends, she decided to try for the first time, to write poetry and was pleased at how easily her thoughts and feelings became words. She lives in
