Tuesday Black
The black
porcelain dog was thrown into the air.
Allowed to fall, it lay in pieces.
I sliced
open my thumb.
Blood... like red enamel paint has a coerced direction.
Purpose and
goal is tended to behind a black cherry glass.
There exists.
Act natural
while your rivets loosen.
Cover them with your pajamas in the daytime.

About the Author
Michael Haley’s poem, “Wolfmen and
Gypsy Girls” was read on National Radio’s The
Romantic Hours. He changes his
artistic medium from painting to poetry after finding that he was writing out
his ideas, even on the backs of finished paintings.
