LOVE
From the crowd a young man Kareem stepped forward, and asked the unknown prophet to relate his views on love. This request caused the unknown prophet to pause for he had loved once and lost all. The unknown prophet was once a young man and did not always roam the land.
The unknown prophet began to speak and the crowd became silent, “Love is something born of God, and is to be cherished and nurtured like a child. Just like a child love must be raised and cultivated so that it may grow and flourish. If love is not constantly nurtured it will be stunted in its infancy never to bloom into adulthood. This arrested development will cause one lover to become restless in their unfulfilled dreams and desires. This lover longs to see the natural progression of their love achieve adulthood, and lead to the sweet ultimate pinnacle of marriage. “
“Love is a union of two souls divinely brought together by the Almighty, and He should be praised for this act of mercy. You may wonder why I say mercy. There is nothing sadder than the person who does not know the wonder of love, and the beauty therein of being joined as one soul. Should God choose favor upon you, and grant mercy from your lonely existence, it should be devotingly cherished by both lovers. Just as rearing a child is a difficult task. Raising love is a hard and difficult task that both lovers must work towards. When the lovers stand together in adulthood and look on in proud admiration for the love that they have raised. Then they will enable themselves to find the beauty and solitude of marriage. When the lovers have truly become one and have born seeds of their love, their old age will remain a testament to God’s mercy upon them.”
The unknown prophet chose to favor the crowd with his tale of love lost that he had guarded for so long with a heavy heart. “Many seasons ago in my youth, I was favored by God with a love that was beyond compare. Her beauty, sweetness of nature, and adoration for me was sent from heaven on the wings of angels. My love tended to our romance as if it were a suckling infant, constantly feeding and nurturing that love. In my foolish youth I often took this love for granted. I believed that I was as God, and this love was of my creation. My love grew discontented as our infant failed to develop even with all her efforts. One day, she met another youth that showed her all the love that I had given as a promise. She came to me with heavy heart and told me that,” “I know that you are the essence of love itself, but even love must have need to learn. You are a man nearer to God than most, but you have not learned to give of your own heart fully. You enlighten others with your knowledge, but have yet to accept your own teachings.” “Her words pierced my heart like a blunt dagger for I knew that she spoke true wisdom. So, never to this very day as I live and speak has God granted mercy upon me again.”
“Please, listen to the words I speak Kareem and the tale that I have related. When mercy is granted upon you, and God has smiled upon you, that your love will be nurtured from infancy to adulthood, and then to old age.”
