Butterfly Me
I can’t control the breeze
That has swept me off my feet
Nor the sunshine that has been given to me
I can’t control this urge to fly
I can’t believe this heart of mine
I never imagined the sky could be this blue
I never dreamed
I understand the birds when they sing
But somehow I do
I had forgotten how the smell of the flowers
Could be so sweet
But these butterflies you give remind me
So butterfly me
I used to think the clouds would cry for me
And from the window
I would watch the rainfall and daydream
I didn’t take time
To notice the changing of the leaves
I just remember how good it felt in the spring
I never thought laughter was meant for me
Until I felt the butterflies you bring
So butterfly, butterfly me
