About the Book

Sackcloth & Ashes, is a collection of inspiration, poetry, scripture and prayers.  Written from 1995 to 2004, intended to uplift, educate and inspire.  The poetry itself is written in a simple manner, put together in a form that even a child may understand.  It demonstrates the use of alliteration and rhyme along with a rhythm that ebbs and flows like the soothing sound of the flowing tide.  Subjects vary from the simple to complex, but ultimately reach out to the reader for understanding and enlightenment.  A must read book for all who appreciate the spiritually uplifting.

About the Author

Michael Q. Shaw, was born abroad of American citizens in 1977 at Landstuhl Germany. He has traveled the globe to many locations that the United States Air Force had assigned his father.  After a misfortunate family separation, Michael was raised by his mother in Nebraska.  Eventually he followed in his fathers footsteps later becoming a Non-Commissioned Officer in the Air Force as well.  He began writing seriously in  High school after his  English teacher had urged him to continue to nurture his unique ability.  Since then, he has been featured in numerous anthologies among them, The National Library of Poetry compilations, The Famous Poets society, and The Noble House.
