About the Book

Thirty plus years ago my life was abruptly changed.  I became a living symbol of the Vietnam War.  The injustices of this political war, the pain, violence, and death have remained with me these many years.  Eighteen years young, in ‘the jungles of Nam, with a fellow marine dying in my arms, the reality of this war came to light.  The turmoil and emotions that ran deep in America were unparalleled: violent war protests, draft dodgers burning draft cards, war Veterans being spit upon and labeled baby killers, mounting suicides of returning soldiers who had served their country with pride and courage.  No other war in American history had been fought in this manner.

Come…enter into “My Vietnam”.

About the Author

Steve R. Dupuis, a former United States Marine has written this book based on real events; however, he classified it as “fiction” in order to protect the innocent.  War always demands a price!  His price was diagnosed by the V.A. doctors as past traumatic stress disorder, flashbacks, night sweats, crippling depression, and other.  Knowing this, the Veterans Administration has denied Steve all claims to date.  How ironic!  What a way to treat our War Veterans.  His earnest intent for writing “My Vietnam” is to help all Vietnam Veterans “get back home”, “back to the world”, and to get the respect and recognition that all the veterans of all wars rightly deserve.
