“Come on guys.” Joseph looks back for his teens and demand that they hurry on in.
Shawn taps his father’s side. Joseph jumps. “Dad, I’m right here beside you.”
“You scared me, Shawn.”
“Sue, come on in”, Joseph demands.
“Sure dad.” Sue answers in a trance like state as she finds herself staring up the steps to the porch. She begins to walk slowly up the stairs. Sue walks through the front door and then suddenly, she flashes on an image of a group of people around a blazing fire, marching around. The red hot embers from the crackling burning logs are tossed up into the sultry air. The sounds of the moaning noises penetrate all around. Sue’s visual flashes reveal that this nightly ritual seems to commence during the midnight hour.
As quick as the images appeared inside of Sue’s head, was as fast as they vanished without a trace of detailed memory. The fearful Sue takes a deep breath, takes her first step and proceeds into the home.
“Sue, are you okay?” Catharina notices Sue’s reaction, and understands this has occurred before to her daughter.
“Yeah, Mom, I’m okay. Why?” Sue manages to shake it off.
“Sorry Sweetie. I just thought - well it looked like something was wrong with you.”
“Come on Mom, I’m fine. Let’s not make a big deal, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Mom, you know how these old country homes are and all.” She says it in a way not to alarm her mother. But deep down inside, she was wondering what had happened to her in that quick moment. She also is aware that her mother did know what was going on with her.
“Sue, take a look at this place.” Catharina grabs her by the arm and pulls her in to the living room. “Isn’t this great?”
“Yeah, yeah, it’s great. I am going to pick out a bedroom for me. I’ll be upstairs.”
Deep down inside of Sue, she does like the layout of the house. Although, she’s reacting as any normal teen, she is not willing to give in so easily. A part of her does agree with her parents’ decision to purchase the house. She turns and heads upstairs, mumbling to her self, “I can’t believe I have to leave my friends”, over and over.
Catharina simply ignores Sue’s whining.
Shawn scrambles behind her. “Hey, I am going upstairs also! Sue might pick the bedroom that I want.”

About the Book
Joseph and Catharina Stephens are very pleased with their decision to relocate from the city to the country. While their teens, Sue and Shawn, do not agree with the move, especially since they have to leave their friends, Joseph and Catharina continued with the process to take ownership of the new home. The transaction seems to go smoothly, unknowing to the Stephens, that their perfect Seller, couldn’t have been more eager to instruct the Realtor to accept any amount they offered for the property.
They say that a big move like this usually affects the family for a period up to six months. This is not the case for the Stephens family. Shortly after they take possession of their dream home, dark forces immediately show themselves and disappearances are inevitable as the secret of the property not only affect the unique personalities in the family, it breaths a different life, one that casts an unimaginable presence that refuses to cease existence.

Sherri was born with a gift of insight and vision. She has taken this ability to a new level and applied it to writing, making her a well known Author.
