About the Book

About the Author

Paul Norman Ferree was born in Bloomington, Indiana, March 12, 1926 and grew up as a farm lad. He graduated from Bloomington High School and served in the Marine Corp, and was stationed in the south Pacific during World War 11.

Upon returning to Bloomington Indiana, he began his career as a carpenter, working in Bloomington and Indianapolis on light and heavy construction such as bridges, large buildings, houses and apartments for over fifty years. Later during this time he became a Realestate salesman and a Realestate broker.

Paul and his wife and their four children have lived in California as well as in Indiana and have traveled in most all of the states in the United States of America.

Paul is a born again Christian. He is an avid reader of the Bible. He has been a Sunday School teacher to adults which he taught for many years. Thoes who were in attendance in his classes were from all walks of life, doctors, lawyers, college professors and many who were like himself. From these people, those that he knew and worked with came from a large number of people, whose character and discipline greatly varied from each other. From the personal acquaintance and fellowship that he had with them, Paul learned from each of them. He listened to them tell of their joys, sufferings, likes and dislikes, their good times, as well as their failures and disappointments.

By hearing about their lives and being a sympathetic and a concerned listener, it has helped him to weave together this narrative. He has laughed, joked and cried with them, he learned from their good and bad habits.

Through his life, no mode of travel was unfamiliar to him for he has traveled, by bicycle, wagons drawn by horses, from the Model T's, modern automobiles, trucks, airplanes, ships, buses, railroad passenger coaches, electric and steam and in the cabs of hand fired coal engines.

All of these things are etched in his memories forever.
