About the Book
A Message From Allama-Tabatabai: IN THE NAME OF GOD, THE MERCIFUL, THE COMPASSIONATE The book you are about to read is a collection of narrations regarding the practical methods of Prophet Mohammads.a) which his honor practiced in his life and that he had special attention to them. I put together some of the better known of these narrations in a booklet I called Sonanonaby around 1350 A.H. Recently, the honorable scholar Sheikh Mohammad-Hadi Feghhi (may God bless him) has put together, with great effort, the remainder of these narrations that were scattered in various sources. He has then combined them all in one book and translated it into Persian; keeping the original Arabic version as part of the book in order to make it accessible to and useable by everyone. May God reward him well
About the Author
The Honorable Allama does not need to be introduced, as he is well known and respected not only in the scientific and Islamic society of Iran, but also in the scientific community of the world. However, since through reading of this book, it may be the first time some people are introduced to his work we decided to touch on the highlights of his life for information purposes.
The honorable Allama, the great philosopher, Hojj Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Tabatabai was born in a greatly respected family in Tabriz on 29 Zelhajja in 1321 A.H. (Islamic calendar), corresponding to 1282 H.Sh. (Persian calendar). After completing the elementary studies in his birthplace he moved to Iraq in 1344 A.H. to continue his studies in the holy city of Najaf.
In Najaf, where his forefather, Imam Ali’s shrine is, he was taught Fegh’h (religious jurisprudence), Osule (principles of jurisprudence), Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran), Philosophy, Mathematics, and Ethics by masters such as Seyyed Abul-Hassan Esfahani, Naiini, Komponi, Seyyed Hassan Bawd-Koobei, Seyyed Abul-Ghassem Khonsawri, and Hojj Mirza Ali Ghawzzi (peace be upon all of them). The Allama returned to Tabriz in 1354 A.H. While residing in Tabriz he taught several subjects and authored numerous books such as “Rasael Sab’eh = Seven Thesis” and “Resaleh Veloyat = Thesis of Guardianship”. He also finished writing a major portion of his famous Tafseer Al-Meezon (interpretation of the Quran) during this time.
About ten years later, in 1365 A.H., due to the political events of World War II he decided to move to Qom and began teaching some of the Islamic subjects there.
