As the new graduates exited, there were hundreds of people waiting to congratulate their loved ones. Meechie looked, smiled, and continued walking to where her old Honda was parked. There was a Toyota Land Cruiser parked behind her, illegally, blocking her in.
“Damn.” Meechie said. “What stupid person parked like
this? How am I supposed to go home?”
As Meechie walked closer to her car, the driver door of the Land Cruiser opened. A single white rose caught her eye. Then she took notice of the stunning gentleman that stepped out. It was Mack. He walked to her and handed the rose to her.
“Congratulations.” He said.
“Thank you.”
“I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you, too.” She admitted.
“I’m sorry.” He apologized.
Meechie held her head down. She wanted so much to be with him, but she was scared of being hurt again. He lifted her chin with his finger and looked into her eyes.
“Meechie, please give me another chance.”
“Mack, I don’t know.”
“Baby, a lesson taught…”
“Is a lesson learned.” Meechie finished.
“Believe me, I have learned my lesson.” He explained. “I have thought of you every single day for the last five months. I have a Jones for you. I wanted to call, but I didn’t know what to say. Give me another chance, Meechie. Maybe I don’t deserve you, but I need you, please.”
