About the Book

"FINAL SCORE: BOYS 8 GIRLS 3" is about a family. The story of this family encompasses a period of more than forty years. The family is larger than most, having a Mom, Dad and eleven children. The book consists of a series of short stories, anecdotes and lessons learned. Dave (Dad) writes most as he remembers the various experiences and adventures. Other inputs come from Carol (Mom) and still others from the children as they recall from the memory of their youth. Some of the stories are amusing while others are more serious ... and all are written to make the reader feel good. Read about romance, babies, diapers, lost kids, spilled milk, the family zoo, going to war, and a multitude of other happenings as Dave and Carol experience the trials, tribulations, and absolute joys of raising a family of eleven children. The bottom line is that there is no substitute for the love of each other and faith in GOD.

About the Author

The romance of Dave and Carol Kerzie started with a close encounter at an obscure bus stop. Married in 1959, they subsequently conceived and raised eleven children. All the offspring are graduates of Cal Poly Pomona University, California.

Dave is a graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Almost every day has been an adventure in a thirty-eight year career as a pilot and test pilot flying high performance multi-engine and fighter jet aircraft. Dave''''s primary role in life however, has been that of a husband and father. He writes of these proud but humbling experiences in FINAL SCORE BOYS 8 GIRLS 3.

Carol attended Seattle University for two years. As could be expected, she was a stay at home Mom for the first twenty years of her marriage. After the last little one was well established in elementary school, Carol obtained employment in the local school system as a clerical staff member. She was able to accomplish this and still be at home when the kids arrived from their respective schools. In her employment, Carol became an expert with the school''''s computer programs to where the staff continually requested data from her for various functions. She also became so adept at tracking truants that her principal was heard to say that Carol missed her calling by not working for the FBI. The seven hundred kids in attendance also knew her sometimes as a second Mom. Still, her primary concern during her entire married life has been her children and raising her family with Dave. Carol was named Mother of the Year at Edwards Air Force Base in 1978.
