About the Author

The author has worked in many organizations, including a major Canadian bank and other multi-national corporations. He has observed first hand the performance of different companies that were clients of the bank. He saw how companies with effective business strategies performed and those without business strategies suffered the consequences, especially during economic downturns.

The author has observed that executives, managers, and business owners constantly struggle with the challenge of figuring out what they have to do to earn higher profits, increase market share, achieve above-average returns, or increase growth. This convinced the author of the importance of business strategy.

The author has also lived this experience as an entrepreneur by starting and owning a consulting firm of which he was the President and CEO. His experience on three continents, Africa, Europe, and North America have convinced him that these struggles are not unique and are universal to the world of business. The author’s passion for strategy comes from observing his father who was an entrepreneur and a King of a state in Ghana.

The author has an MBA (masters of business administration) and an MPA (masters of public administration). He appears as an occasional guest speaker at the MBA program (University of Ottawa School of Management).
