Then we saw a truckload of people coming down the driveway. Aubrey looked at the guys and Tom signed something to them. They all four jumped and ran. Aubrey ran in the house like a bat out of hell. I just hollered, "Get your family and take cover John. He jumped up immediately and ran down the hill with his family.
I saw a man holding a gun on Tom. I saw Aubrey sign him something and then she planted both her feet in the small of the man’s back and he went down like a stone. Tom picked him up and hit him one time and his legs wobbled like wet noodles. He hit the ground and didn't move again.
I called Aubrey, "Steve, stay with the kids." I stopped in my tracks.
There was a man sneaking up behind Miki and Aubrey threw a knife and stuck his arm to his rifle. When Miki heard the man cry out in pain he turned around and walked up, grabbed the knife and twisted it and then pulled it out and threw the gun in the grass and threw the knife back to Aubrey.
John came up beside me and said "Something I can do to help?"
"You might have a few more patients when this is over."
He said, "She is magnificent isn't she."

About the Book

About the Author
As young teens, Kathy Taylor and her cousin Sann McCauley wrote letters to each other. One day Kathy received a letter and attached to the end of it was a little story. Sann encouraged Kathy to add on to the story. They continued writing letters and stories for some time. Writing became a favorite pastime for Kathy. Her favorite subject to write about is women. She writes about the kind of women she strives to be: good women with strong family values, women that stand on their own two feet and try to make the world a better place.
