“My Present Help”

When my life is threatened by wind and rain;

And destructive weather has brought me pain;

When I need someone to calm the storm;

My present help Jesus is true to form.

When my mind is confused after a huge loss;

And I already know I can’t pay the cost;

When I need someone to stand in the gap;

My present help Jesus is always on tap.

When my body is near the point of death;

And I feel like I’m holding my last breath;

When I need someone to touch my hand;

My present help Jesus is always the man.

When my soul is fighting a spiritual war;

And sweet joy has left my heart afar;

When I need someone to save my soul

My present help Jesus makes me whole.

“Knowing Him”

I remember when I didn’t have a clue;

Going through life not knowing what to do;

But when I met Jesus, I met my leading man;

Knowing Him has given me a brand new plan.

I remember when my head was down;

Walking through life with a constant frown;

But when I met Jesus, He threw me a rope;

Knowing Him has given me new found hope.

I remember when I had low self esteem;

Passing through life like a bad dream;

But when I met Jesus, I started to rise;

Knowing Him has given me a special prize.

I remember when I was extremely weak;

Struggling through life on a losing streak;

But when I met Jesus, I became a tower;

Knowing Him has given me Spiritual power.
